UD women’s tennis team defeats Towson

9:04 a.m., April 15, 2005--After both winning singles matches, Liz Perlow and Sari Shuster teamed up for a pivotal doubles victory to lead the University of Delaware women's tennis team to a 4-3 victory over Towson University on Thursday in Newark.

With the victory, the Fightin’ Blue Hens won their third straight match and improved to 15-5 overall and 4-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association. UD will return to action against James Madison University at 11 a.m., Sunday, April 17, at the Delaware Field House courts.

Perlow defeated Eva Otanke 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Shuster defeated Kelly Parsons 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Brittany Barsky defeated Amanda Scatuorchio 6-4, 0-6, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

The Hens won the key doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Susan Pollack and Alexa Dragonette teamed to defeat Okanke and Parsons, and Perlow and Shuster defeated Pamela Zeger and Audrey Damrongsri.
