UD womens basketball falls 48-42 to St. Johns

10:34 a.m., March 18, 2005--Shooting just 26.4 percent from the field, the University of Delaware womens basketball team fell 48-42 to St. Johns University in the opening round of the Womens National Invitation Tournament on Thursday night at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center.
With the loss, the Fightin Blue Hens concluded the season with a record of 25-6.
The leading scorer for the Hens was senior forward Tiara Malcom, the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year who scored 10 points and had seven rebounds.

UD sophomore guard Alena Koshansky hit three three-point baskets for nine points, sinking a pair late in the second half to give life to the team and the crowd, and senior forward Tiffany Young had eight points and seven rebounds.
St. Johns, which improved to 20-10, was led by forward Angela Clark, who had 18 points and eight rebounds.
