CAA recognizes Hens in women’s lacrosse

11:31 a.m., May 3, 2005--Five members of the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team were honored by the Colonial Athletic Association, with senior Erin Edell named first team All-CAA, seniors Kelly O’Connor and Becky Rausa named second team All-CAA, and freshmen Casey McCrudden and Katie Hogan named to the CAA All-Rookie Team.

Edell, a second team All-CAA midfield selection last season, has 25 goals and 30 points this season, to go along with 41 ground balls and 30 draw controls. Edell has four hat tricks, including a career-best four goals against Mount St. Mary's and James Madison.

O'Connor, a senior defender, often was called upon to play against the opponent’s top scorer. She has collected 14 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers.

Rausa, a senior midfielder, has 23 goals this season, including a career-high five scored in a game against CAA rival Drexel University. She leads the Hens in assists with 15, has caused 16 turnovers, has collected 23 ground balls and has 11 draw controls.

McCrudden has started all 14 games and leads the Hens in goals scored, with 28. She scored five goals in a victory over Towson University and four in a victory over Old Dominion University.

Hogan has appeared in 13 games and has started in 12 of those contests. She has scored 10 goals this season and has 23 draw controls.
