No. 4 Princeton defeats UD in women’s lacrosse

11:19 a.m., April 27, 2005--The No. 4-ranked Princeton University women’s lacrosse team defeated the University of Delaware 16-3 on Tuesday night at Rullo Stadium, snapping a three-game Fightin’ Blue Hens winning streak.

With the loss, UD fell to 8-6 as it prepares for the weekend’s Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament. The Hens will play at noon, Saturday, April 30, against host and top seed Hofstra University. The winner will advance to the championship game on Sunday, May 1, against the winner of the game between Towson University and George Mason University.

Scoring for the Hens in the loss to Princeton were Megan Hager, Casey McCrudden and Kristin Cellucci. Goalkeeper Patrice Hughes had five saves, and Jess Dibelka had two.

Prior to the game, seniors Becky Rausa, Erin Edell, Allison Lynch, Lindsey Greer and Kelly O'Connor were honored for their contributions to the program in the last four years.
