UD women’s lacrosse tops Villanova 21-4

10:27 a.m., March 17, 2005--The University of Delaware women’s lacrosse team exploded for a 21-4 victory over Villanova University on Wednesday afternoon at Rullo Stadium.

Sophomore Katie Muth scored a career-high four goals, and four other Fightin’ Blue Hens had three goals each.

With the victory, the No. 20-ranked Hens improved to 2-1. UD will return to action with a game against Mount St. Mary’s University at 7 p.m., Friday, March 18, at Rullo Stadium.

UD players Erin Edell, Casey McCrudden, Katie Hogan and Stephanie McQuade had three goals each. Kristin Cellucci had four assists, and McQuade had three.

UD goalkeeper Patrice Hughes had four saves. She was relieved by Jess Dibelka, who came on with just over six minutes to play.
