UD women’s lacrosse falls 10-8 to Loyola

8:51 a.m., March 11, 2005--Despite a furious rally late in the game, the University of Delaware women’s lacrosse team was unable to overtake No. 11-ranked Loyola College of Maryland and fell 10-8 in a game played Thursday night at Rullo Stadium.

With the loss, the Fightin’ Blue Hens fell to 1-1. The Hens will return to action with a home game against Villanova University at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 16.

Loyola jumped out to a 4-1 halftime advantage and led 10-5 before the Hens scored three straight goals to close the gap.

UD got two goals each from Jenny Diana, Erin Edell and Laura Miller. Diana, the Hens’ leading goal-scorer as a freshman last season, also added an assist while Megan Hager had a goal and an assist and Katie Muth had a goal.
