UD volleyball competes in Maryland scrimmage

12:18 p.m., April 19, 2005--The University of Delaware volleyball team competed in a spring scrimmage tournament last weekend at the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens opened the tournament with a loss to the College of William and Mary then went up against defending Colonial Athletic Association champion Towson University, which defeated UD in the conference championship game last fall. The Hens won the first game of the match but then dropped the next two.

UD earned a win over Virginia Commonwealth University and then fell to host Maryland.
