Blue Hen volleyball team falls to Temple

UD’s Heather Ranck is among the NCAA Division I leaders in digs per game.
11:29 a.m., Sept. 14, 2005--The University of Delaware volleyball team fell 3-0 to Temple University in a match played Tuesday evening at McGonigle Hall in Philadelphia.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens fell 30-21, 30-25 and 30-14.

Sophomore Colleen Walsh led the Hens with 13 kills and 10 digs. UD junior Heather Ranck, who is ranked 24th in NCAA Division I with 5.32 digs per game, had nine digs, and sophomore Megan Welch had 25 assists and nine digs.

UD, which fell to 3-7 on the season, will return to action with a Colonial Athletic Association match at the College of William & Mary at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16.

The Hens will continue CAA play with trips to Virginia Commonwealth University for a match at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, and to Towson University for a match at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20.
