Campbell, Pollack win pair in tennis regionals

9:31 a.m., Oct. 25, 2005--Amanda Campbell and Susan Pollack of the University of Delaware tennis team won two doubles matches in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional Championships held at Army Saturday through Monday at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.

Campbell and Pollack, the 16th seed in the doubles draw, defeated Lauren Galatie and Pam Pillo of Sacred Heart University 8-0 and Mary Napier and Kristen Nordstrom of James Madison University 9-7 in the opening rounds.

They fell to top-seeded Melissa Anderson and Elsa O’Riain of Harvard University 8-3 in the round of 16 on Monday for their first loss of the season after 14 straight victories.

Pollack also competed in the singles draw, receiving a bye in the opening round and then falling to Janet Kim of Yale University 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 in the round of 64.
