Delaware tennis team defeated by UMBC

9 a.m., April 5, 2005--The host University of Delaware women's tennis team fell 6-1 to the University of Maryland Baltimore County in a match played Monday afternoon.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens lost all six singles matches but swept all three doubles contests to earn the point.

UD will return to action Wednesday, April 6, when the Hens travel to Drexel University for a Colonial Athletic Association match.

In doubles play Monday, UD’s Susan Pollack and Alexa Dragonette defeated Ale Pedergnana and Aimee Lim 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, Brittany Barsky and Katie Miller defeated Adriana Fonseca and Elizabeth Anderson 8-6 at No. 2, and Liz Perlow and Sari Shuster defeated Pascaline Cette and Idil Un 8-5 at No. 3.

In singles, Pollack fell to Pedergnana at No. 1, Perlow to Lim at No. 2, Shuster to Fonseca at No. 3, Dragonette to Anderson at No. 4, Brittany Barsky to Pascaline Cette at No. 5 and Miller to Un at No. 6.
