UD swimming team announces recruits 9:48 a.m., June 7, 2005--Twenty-six freshmen will join the University of Delaware swimming and diving team for the 2005-06 season, Fightin Blue Hens Head Coach John Hayman has announced. The incoming class includes 23 swimmers, with 15 on the womens team and eight on the mens team, and also three divers, two on the womens team and one on the mens team. The women's class includes Kelsey Paras from Lakewood, Ohio, distance freestyle; Colleen Stewart from Rockville, Md., butterfly and individual medley; Katy White from Wadsworth, Ohio, butterfly and backstroke; Catherine Gallagher from Severna Park, Md., freestyle; Katie Smith from Marietta, Ohio, sprint freestyle; Kellie Pastore from Philadelphia, individual medley and breaststroke; Emily Watts from Lansdale, Pa., backstroke; Lauren Southard from Montgomery Village, Md., breaststroke; Katie Zoretic from San Diego, Calif., distance freestyle. The class also includes Sarah Begley from Berwyn, Pa., butterfly and freestyle; Alyson Oliver from West Palm Beach, Fla., diving; Erin Phillips from Jacksonville, Fla., butterfly and freestyle; Maryann Walker from Ellicott City, Md., freestyle and backstroke; Stephanie House from Pittsford, N.Y., butterfly and freestyle; Brenna Davis from Bryn Athyn, Pa., backstroke; Kailey Pelton from Malvern, Pa., butterfly; and Shannon Burke from Shelton, Conn., diving. The mens class includes Ullik Sokolov from Leonardo, N.J., sprint freestyle; Garrett Arant from Newark, backstroke and freestyle; Robert Seraiva from Newport News, Va., backstroke; Peter Reiter from River Dale, N.J., individual medley and butterfly; Ryan Carolan from Walnutport, Pa., butterfly and backstroke; Mark Erdosy from Walnutport, Pa., individual medley and breaststroke; John Ohlhaver of Catonsville, Md., sprint freestyle; James Lavender from Dunwoody, Ga., butterfly and freestyle; and Matt Abbruzesse from Merrick, N.Y., diving.
