10:30 a.m., April 28, 2005--The University of Delaware softball team swept its second doubleheader in as many days with 11-4 and 5-3 victories at Bucknell University on Wednesday afternoon.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens raised their record to 26-20 as they prepare to host Colonial Athletic Association rival Towson University in a three-game weekend series. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at noon, Saturday, and a single game beginning at noon, Sunday.

In the first game against Bucknell, UD sophomore pitcher Carolynn Sloat earned her 15th victory of the season, and freshman second baseman Allison Borchers had four hits, four runs batted in and a run scored.

Center fielder Katie Lee had three hits, including a double, and scored four runs, and first baseman Barbara Traynor had two hits, including a triple, and three runs batted in.

In the second game, UD’s Kelsey Knapp earned the win, coming on in the fifth in relief of Lindsay Jones. Sloat worked one scoreless inning to earn a save.

Borchers, Traynor and right fielder Kelley Pastic had two hits each. Traynor drove home a pair of runs, and Pastic scored three runs.
