Delaware softball team takes 2 from LaSalle
Joseph hit a three-run home run in the first game and threw her first shutout of the season in the second. The Fightin Blue Hens, who have now won seven of their last eight games, improved to 16-14 as they prepare to host defending Colonial Athletic Association champion Hofstra University in a three-game weekend series. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at noon, Saturday, April 9, and a single game beginning at noon, Sunday, April 10. In the first game against LaSalle, Joseph put the Hens on top with a first inning home run that scored second baseman Allison Borchers and center fielder Katie Lee. The margin proved enough for sophomore pitcher Carolynn Sloat, who picked up her 10th win of the season. Joseph took the mound for the second game, scattering four hits for her fifth win of the season. The Hens won the game in their final at-bat when Lee scored following a single by Joseph and an error by the LaSalle right fielder. To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
