Sloat pitches 6-0 softball win over George Mason

11:52 a.m., March 30, 2005--The University of Delaware softball team shut out host George Mason 6-0 in the second game of a March 26 doubleheader at George Mason Field in Fairfax, Va.

The Blue Hens took the lead early by scoring twice in the top of the first inning, when Michelle Plant singled in Allison Borchers and Katie Lee to put Delaware up 2-0. Borchers led the UD offense with a 3-for-5 performance that included two runs scored and an RBI.

Sophomore Carolynn Sloat, who is now 7-5, scattered four hits and struck out four while walking just one to post her fourth shutout of the season.

The Hens, 0-2 in CAA action, are 9-13 overall.
