Borchers, Sloat selected CAA players of the week

10:34 a.m., March 9, 2005--Two University of Delaware softball players have been honored by the Colonial Athletic Association, with freshman second baseman Allison Borchers named the Player of the Week and sophomore Carolynn Sloat named the Pitcher of the Week.
Borchers hit .353 with three runs scored and five runs batted in during the Pirate Clash tournament held at East Carolina University last weekend.

Sloat started three games and came on in relief in a fourth game during the tournament. She posted a 2-1 record with a 0.41 earned run average in 22 innings of work, pitching three complete games and striking out 26 batters.
Weather permitting, the Fightin’ Blue Hens will host Cornell University in a doubleheader at noon on Sunday.
