Giordano, McCrudden CAA Rookies of Week

9:59 a.m., April 20, 2005--Two University of Delaware freshman lacrosse players, Vincent Giordano of the men’s team and Casey McCrudden of the women’s team, have been named Colonial Athletic Association Rookies of the Week.
Giordano, a midfielder, scored two goals for the Fightin’ Blue Hens in a 12-5 conference win over Villanova University. The win assured the Hens of at least a No. 2 seed and a home berth in the upcoming CAA championship tournament that will begin May 4.
Giordano has eight goals in 12 games this season for the Hens, who are 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the CAA.

McCrudden, who plays attack, scored four goals in UD’s 15-3 victory over Old Dominion University and scored two goals in the Hens’ 13-8 victory over the College of William and Mary. The wins earned UD its first CAA tournament berth
McCrudden has a team-leading 25 goals this season for the Hens, who are 7-5 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
