Ex-Hens Elliott, Nagy lift teams to victories 12 p.m., May 16, 2005--Two former University of Delaware football players, wide receiver Jamin Elliott and quarterback Matt Nagy, had outstanding games last weekend. Elliott, playing for the Cologne Centurions in NFL Europe, had five receptions for 62 yards as the team won 20-17 in overtime against the Frankfurt Galaxy on Saturday. Elliott, who was allocated to NFL Europe by the Chicago Bears, also had two kickoff returns for a total of 38 yards. Nagy led the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League to its 10th straight victory on Saturday, defeating the Dallas Desperados 63-56. Nagy completed 25 of 32 passes for 307 yards and nine touchdowns. With Nagy at the helm, Georgia (11-4) became the first team in the history of the league to go undefeated at home in the regular season. Another former UD player, lineman Joe Minucci, scored an unlikely touchdown for the AFLs Nashville Kats in a 52-49 loss to the Colorado Crush. Running back Jarrick Hillery faked a sweep and then threw back across the field to a waiting Minucci. To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
