Delaware mens tennis strong at Swarthmore 10:32 a.m., Sept. 22, 2005--The University of Delaware mens tennis team won four of the five singles flights and one doubles flight as the Fightin Blue Hens successfully opened the 2005 fall season at the Swarthmore Invitational. UD junior Adam Liebman went 3-0 to win the Flight B singles title, defeating Sam Sidhu of Swarthmore, Eric Ferriere of the College of New Jersey and teammate Jason Hanschmann 6-4, 6-0 in the finals. Hanschmann had defeated Adam Wallwork of Swarthmore and Justin Cook of the College of New Jersey to reach the finals. UD freshman Nolan Greenberg also went 3-0 to capture the Flight C singles title, as he defeated Kevin Shaungnessy of Swarthmore, Corey Ball of the College of New Jersey and J.J. England of Swarthmore in the finals. Freshman Josh Levine won all three of his matches to take the Flight D singles title, as he topped Tristin Bice of Swarthmore, Anders Taylor of Swarthmore and Matt Hiznay of the College of New Jersey. UD senior Philip Wayne went 1-1 in his two matches in the flight, defeating Dan Wulc of Swarthmore and falling to Hiznay. Sophomore Zach Chafitz won the Flight E singles title, defeating Mark Greenburt of Swarthmore, Keith Torrey of Swarthmore and Will Daly of the College of New Jersey. In Flight A singles action, US senior Jesse Carl went 1-1, falling to Zach Rodd of Swarthmore and defeating Roger Mostellar of the College of New Jersey. Senior Josh Ditman also split his two matches, topping Brian Park of Swarthmore and falling to Michael Klimchak of the College of New Jersey. The UD team of Greenberg and Wayne won the Flight B doubles title by winning all three of their matches, while Liebman and Chafitz split two matches in the flight. The UD teams of Ditman and Levine and Carl and Hanschmann split their matches in Flight A doubles. UD will return to action with a match at Villanova University at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25.
