Blue Hen men’s soccer drops two CAA matches

11:17 a.m., Oct. 17, 2005--The University of Delaware men’s soccer team dropped a pair of Colonial Athletic Association matches, falling 4-0 at Virginia Commonwealth University on Friday and 5-1 at James Madison University on Sunday.

With the losses, the Fightin’ Blue Hens fell to 1-9-3 overall and 0-5-1 in the CAA. They will play two conference matches this weekend at the Delaware Mini-Stadium, facing George Mason University at 7 p.m., Friday, and Towson University at 1 p.m., Sunday.

George Mason is 4-5-4 overall and 0-2-4 in the CAA, and Towson is 9-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the conference.

Against Virginia Commonwealth, UD goalkeeper Chris Jones had 13 saves.

Against James Madison, UD freshman Matt Laudeman found the net in the second half, scoring the Hens’ first goal in six games. UD goalkeeper Taylor Thames had a pair of saves.
