Delaware lacrosse teams are ranked in top 20 2:53 p.m., April 28, 2005--Both University of Delaware lacrosse teams are ranked in the top 20 nationally in major NCAA Division I polls released this week. The 8-6 UD womens team, under first-year Head Coach Kim Ciarrocca, is ranked No. 16 in the new Intercollegiate Womens Lacrosse Coaches Association poll. Three Colonial Athletic Association teams are ranked in the top 20, with Hofstra University leading the way at No. 12 and Towson University at No. 14. The Fightin Blue Hens will compete in the CAA championship tournament this weekend at Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y. The fourth-seeded Hens will face Hofstra in a semifinal game at noon, Saturday, April 30, with Towson facing George Mason University in the second semifinal. The championship game will be played Sunday, May 1. The 9-4 UD mens team, under Head Coach Bob Shillinglaw, is ranked No. 19 in both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and the Inside Lacrosse magazine polls. The Hens, who had a match with Yale University stopped by inclement weather with the score tied 5-5 on Wednesday, will next face St. Johns University at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 30, at Rullo Stadium.
