Hens top Hawks on 3-run homer by Hagerich

1:19 p.m., March 31, 2005--A three-run homer by first baseman Bryan Hagerich in the bottom of the fourth inning helped the Fightin’ Blue Hens baseball team defeat the St. Joseph’s Hawks 5-3, Wednesday, March 30, at Bob Hannah Stadium.

Bill Harris pitched eight innings, allowing two earned runs on eight hits and striking out five before being replaced by Chad Kerfoot in the ninth. Kerfoot picked up his first save, while Harris improved his record to 2-0.

Offensively, Brandon Menchaca extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a double in the bottom of the fifth. Brock Donovan and Brian Valichka also doubled, while Ryan Graham rounded out the Hens' six-hit effort with a single.

Blue Hen baseball action continues today at 3 p.m., for the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic at La Salle University.
