UD basketball’s Hayes transfers to American

10:08 a.m., June 20, 2005--University of Delaware women’s basketball player Liz Hayes has announced that she will transfer to American University.

Hayes, a 5-foot 7-inch guard from Easton, Pa., appeared in all 31 UD games during her sophomore season in 2004-05. She averaged 4.1 points and 15.5 minutes of playing time per game, and was second on the team with 33 three-point baskets. As a freshman, Hayes averaged 6.6 points per game.

Head Coach Tina Martin’s Fightin’ Blue Hens have a great deal of depth at the guard position. Among the returning guards are Tyresa Smith, who was selected to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Defensive team, and Alena Koshansky.
