UD golf team competes in Sea Trail Invitational

9:54 a.m., Sept. 26, 2005--The University of Delaware golf team finished in a tie for 13th place at the Sea Trail Invitational tournament, hosted by Elon University on Sunday in Sunset Beach, N.C.

Junior Joe McLister was UD’s top finisher as he, like the team, tied for 13th place. McLister shot rounds of 75 and 69 on Saturday and 71 on Sunday, when four of the team’s five players shot 76 or better.

UD freshman Jeff Griest finished 31st, junior Tyler Kupper 53rd, sophomore Josh Williamosky 77th and freshman Steve Boerner 91st.

Host Elon captured the championship in the 20-team field, topping second-place Western Carolina University by 11 strokes. UD tied with fellow Colonial Athletic Association member George Mason University for 13th place.
