McLister leads golfers to 8th-place finish 11:37 a.m., Sept. 12, 2005--University of Delaware junior Joe McLister shot a second-day score of 74 Sunday to lead the Fightin Blue Hens to an eighth-place finish at the season-opening United States Naval Academy Tournament. UD shot a team score of 302 in Saturdays opening round and matched that with a 302 Sunday for a final score of 604. George Mason University easily captured the team title with a score of 578, beating George Washington and Towson universities by 17 strokes. A total of 15 teams competed in the tournament. McLister, who competed in the U.S. Amateur this summer and has led the UD in stroke average each of the past two seasons, led the Hens again as he tied for 18th place, firing a 75 Saturday and 74 Sunday. Also for the Hens, sophomore Josh Williamosky was 24th with a score of 150 (77-73), freshman Jeff Griest was 37th with a 153 (76-77), junior B.J. Jaworski was 47th with a 154 (76-78) and senior J.J. Oakley was 51st with a 155 (75-80). UD will continue its fall season at the Rutgers University Tournament to be played Sept. 16-17 at the Rutgers Country Club in Piscataway, N.J.
