UD golf team is fourth in Duncan Memorial

11:29 a.m., May 3, 2005--The University of Delaware golf team finished fourth in the Scotty Duncan Memorial Tournament, hosted by the Fightin’ Blue Hens at Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown.

Josh Williamowsky followed a career-best round of 70 on Sunday with a 77 on Monday to finish at 147 and sixth overall. Teammate Joe McLister finished tied for seventh at 148.

Temple University won the team title by shooting 590. Liberty University was second at 594 followed by Drexel University (595), Delaware (602), Delaware B (624), Wesley College (633), Liberty B (634), Anne Arundel Community College (655), Hampton University (663) and Lafayette College (663).

Drexel's Joe April shot 143 to take the individual title, one stroke ahead of Billy Mullen and James Boose of Temple and Steve Ransom of Drexel.

Also for UD, Steve Banks finished 10th (150), Daniel Spiker 26th (157) and B.J. Jaworski 32nd (161).

For UD’s B team, Tyler Kupper finished 15th (153), Britt Murdoch 22nd (156), Mike Strasburg 26th (157) and J.J. Oakley 28th (158).

Spiker, a four-year standout, finished his career with a stroke average of 77.53, the sixth best career mark in UD history.

McLister led the Hens for the second straight year with a 76.58 stroke average.
