Blue Hen golfers sixth at Lafayette Invitational

1:33 p.m., April 11, 2005--The University of Delaware golf team finished in sixth place at the Lafayette Invitational tournament held Saturday afternoon at the Center Valley (Pa.) Golf Club.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens were held by senior Dan Spiker and Joe McClister, who finished in a three-way tie for 13th with Adam Kolloff of American University. For Spiker, it was his third straight top 20 finish.

American captured the team title with a total score of 595, six strokes ahead of runner-up St. Bonaventure. Niagara and Siena tied for third with 606 followed by Robert Morris, UD, Binghamton, Bucknell, Lafayette and Duquesne.

The tournament was a tune-up for the Colonial Athletic Association championships, which will be held April 15-17 at The Homestead in Hot Spring, Va.
