UD football schedule revisions announced

2:33 p.m., April 7, 2005--The University of Delaware has announced a change to the 2005 football schedule, flipping a pair of away game dates with the University of Maine and Towson University.

The changes were made to accommodate the schedule of another team in the Atlantic 10 Football Conference.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens originally were scheduled to face Maine on Saturday, Oct. 1, but now will play at Orono on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The game at Towson, originally scheduled Saturday, Oct. 29, will now be played at Johnny Unitas Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 1, with kickoff scheduled at 6 p.m.

In addition to the schedule changes, UD also has announced four special events to be held at Delaware Stadium during the 2005 season.

UD will celebrate Freshman Family Weekend with a game against West Chester University on Saturday, Sept. 17; Homecoming with a game against Hofstra University on Saturday, Oct. 8; and Parents and Family Weekend with a game against NCAA Division I-AA defending national champion James Madison University on Saturday, Oct. 22.

The Hens will celebrate Hall of Fame Day on Saturday, Nov. 5, with the final home game of the regular season against the University of Massachusetts.
