9:15 a.m., Sept. 13, 2005--University of Delaware sophomore running back Omar Cuff has been named the national offensive player of the week in NCAA Division I-AA football by the Sports Network.

Cuff ran for 101 yards and set UD records for both touchdowns (five) and points (30) in a game as the Fightin’ Blue Hens’ rallied for a 34-33 overtime victory over Lehigh University on Saturday.

Cuff scored the game-winning touchdown on a 16-yard pass from senior quarterback Sonny Riccio on UD’s first possession in overtime.

Earlier, Cuff was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
