O’Brien, Meany named CAA Runners of Week

11:56 a.m., Sept. 14, 2005--Colleen O’Brien and P.J. Meany of the University of Delaware cross country team have been named the Colonial Athletic Association Runners of the Week for their first-place finishes at the Seahawk Invitational meet, held last week at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

O’Brien, a sophomore, won the five-kilometer women’s race in a time of 18:02.46 to lead the Fightin’ Blue Hens to a team championship. She led the second-place finisher by 12 seconds.

Meany, a junior, won the six-kilometer men’s race in a time of 18:48.86 to lead the Hens to a second-place finish. He led the runner up by 19 seconds.
