UD tennis star Pollack CAA Player of the Week

9:04 a.m., March 24, 2005--University of Delaware freshman Susan Pollack has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week in women’s tennis.

Pollack, who plays No. 1 singles, won two singles matches and one doubles match for the Fightin’ Blue Hens last week. So far this season, she is 14-3 in singles and 9-3 in doubles, where she has teamed with Sari Shuster and Liz Perlow at No. 1 doubles.

Pollack opened the week by leading UD to a 6-1 win over Loyola College of Maryland, defeating Amy Nitch 6-2, 6-2 in singles and teaming with Shuster to defeat Nitch and Jessica Libertore 8-1 in doubles. Also, she posted a 6-0, 6-1 singles victory over Lafayette College's Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung.
