UD freshman Borchers CAA Player of Week

12:11 p.m., April 19, 2005--Freshman second baseman Allison Borchers of the University of Delaware softball team has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.

Borchers helped lead the Fightin’ Blue Hens to four victories last week as she hit .467 with six runs batted in. Her home run in the 10th inning lifted UD to a 3-2 victory over Drexel University in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Borchers, who has started all 38 games at second base this season, currently leads the Hens with a .306 batting average, 33 hits, 16 runs scored, 22 runs batted in, 44 total bases and a .436 on base percentage.
