Blue Hen Days planned by UD Advisory Council

2:04 p.m., April 7, 2005--The University of Delaware Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) will sponsor two Blue Hen Days in coming weeks to promote attendance by students at athletics events on campus.

The first Blue Hen Day is scheduled Friday, April 15, when the No. 20 ranked UD women's lacrosse team will play against Colonial Athletic Association foe Old Dominion University at 7 p.m. at Rullo Stadium.

The second Blue Hen Day will be held Friday, May 6, when the UD baseball team takes on CAA rival George Mason University at 3 p.m. at Bob Hannah Stadium.

During each game, there will be special promotions, and prizes will be awarded to students who attend. Admission is free for students at all UD regular season athletic events.

The SAAC provides for communication between UD scholar-athletes and the athletics administration, the Student Services for Athletes office and sports medicine. Among its goals are to design and implement programs that promote academic achievement, health promotion and community service and to encourage spirit among the varsity programs and the general student population.

For more information, contact SAAC representatives Tyler Kupper, a member of the golf team, at [tkupper@udel.edu] or Kate Klim, a member of the cross country and track teams, at [kklim@udel.edu].
