Basketball season tickets on sale

4:51 p.m., Oct. 18, 2005--Season tickets are on sale for UD’s men’s and women’s basketball games.

Under head coach David Henderson and led by All-American candidate and senior, Harding Nana, the men’s squad will open its 100th anniversary season with an exhibition game against Goldey Beacom on Thursday, Nov. 3rd. Veterans like point guard Rulon Washington, center Raphael Madera, and senior Chris Prothro, duo guard and forward, return to team up with fellow players to keep their opponents busy.

The men’s squad also will appear at the season opening of the Hispanic College Fund Classic hosted by North Carolina State, Friday-Sunday, Nov. 18-20. The Hens will not open their home schedule until 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19, when they face the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

Building on last season’s 25-6 record and the Colonial Athletic Association regular season title under head coach Tina Martin, UD’s women’s team will open its season against the University of Massachusetts at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at home. Captains, seniors Amanda Blackstone and Karleena Tobin, along with junior Alena Koshansky, will combine forces with standout guard Tyresa Smith and teammates to open CAA action Dec. 4 at George Mason. The women will host defending CAA tournament champion Old Dominion Feb.19.

UD mascot YoUDee will share the court with the UD pep band, cheerleaders and dance team to entertain fans and cheer on the Fightin’ Blue Hens to victory.
Family Four-Pack season tickets are fan pleasers, with two tickets for adults and two for children 18 and under.

Season ticket packages range from $60-$210, and season ticket holders have first chance to purchase postseason tickets (if available).

Groups that purchase 20 or more tickets for a game get a $2 discount on each ticket, and the group will be recognized with a message on the scoreboard.
