George Mason sweeps Blue Hens in baseball 10:58 a.m., May 9, 2005--The University of Delaware baseball team was swept by George Mason University in a weekend Colonial Athletic Association series played at Bob Hannah Stadium. The Fightin Blue Hens fell 9-0 on Friday, 3-1 on Saturday and 7-4 in the finale on Sunday. UD is now 21-25 overall and 9-9 in the CAA. The Hens will face Temple University at 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, at Bob Hannah Stadium and will travel to Rutgers University for a game at 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 11. They will return to CAA action with a weekend series at James Madison University. In Sundays game, UD pitcher Billy Harris, who came on in relief of Scott Rambo, took the loss. The Hens got two hits each from its outfielders, Bryan Hagerich, Brandon Menchaca and Dan Richardson. In Saturdays game, UD reliever Mitch Heckert took the loss. The Hens had 10 hits but managed to score just one run. Adam Tsakonas hit a triple and both Ryan Graham and Brent Rogers hit doubles.
