Blue Hen baseball team edges Delaware State 9:42 a.m., April 20, 2005--The University of Delaware baseball team edged Delaware State University 8-7 in a game played Tuesday afternoon at Bob Hannah Stadium. The Fightin Blue Hens, who improved to 15-18, won when Delaware State committed back-to-back errors in the bottom of the ninth inning. UD left fielder Brent Rogers reached first on an error and scored when the Hornets overthrew a ball while trying to put out second baseman Ryan Graham. UD pitcher Kevin Brown earned the win, entering the game in the sixth inning in relief of starter Chad Kerfoot. Key hits for the Hens were delivered by third baseman Adam Tsakonas, who hit a two-run home run in the fifth, and designated hitter Kelly Buber, who hit a two-run double in the third. UD will return to action with a game against St. Josephs University at 3 p.m., Thursday, April 21, at Bob Hannah Stadium. The Hens will take to the road for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series at Old Dominion University, with games Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
