La Salle tops UD 2-1 in extra innings

11:02 a.m., April 1, 2005--The Fightin’ Blue Hens baseball team lost to La Salle 2-1 in the 10th inning of a game played Thursday, March 31, at Hank De Vincent Field in Philadelphia.

The winning blow for the Explorers came when centerfielder Bryan Hagerich doubled in Ryan Parfitt in the bottom of the 10th to give La Salle its seventh victory of the season.

The Hens, who are now 10-13 on the season, managed to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the ninth when Bryan Hagerich delivered an extra base hit and scored on a single by Brock Donovan. Brandon Menchaca extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a double to centerfield in his last at bat.

Delaware returns home to face Towson University in a Colonial Athletic Association game today at 3 p.m., at Bob Hannah Stadium.
