Adams picks off pass in San Francisco win

Mike Adams
9:09 a.m., Sept. 13, 2005--Mike Adams, the former University of Delaware football captain, had a late game interception to help the San Francisco 49ers defeat the St. Louis Rams 28-25 on Sunday.

Adams, a defensive back, picked off Rams quarterback Marc Bulger with about one minute left to play, wrestling the ball away from wide receiver Isaac Bruce.

Adams had dropped what should have been an interception earlier in the game. "Everyone was telling me I was going to get another chance," Adams said in postgame interviews. "It couldn't have come at a better time."

While at UD, Adams helped the Fightin’ Blue Hens win the 2003 NCAA Division I-AA national championship.
