UD’s Pastic is named to All-Academic team

UD’s Kelley Pastic
2:35 p.m., May 17, 2005--University of Delaware softball outfielder Kelley Pastic has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District 2 All-Academic team.

Pastic, a senior and co-captain, started all 53 games in right field for the Fightin’ Blue Hens. She was second on the team with six stolen bases, third with 29 runs scored and fifth with both 29 hits and 33 total bases.

Pastic, who has a 3.98 grade point average as a communication major, is currently in her second term as president of the UD Student-Athlete Advisory Council. She has made the Dean's List every semester, is a three-time member of the Colonial Athletic Association Honor Roll and was UD’s representative to the 2004 NCAA Leadership Conference in Florida.

Pastic is a HENS Peer Mentor, is active in visiting elementary schools promoting fitness and the sciences and is a member of the UD Athletics Governing Board.

To be eligible for the team, scholar-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher. District 2 includes all NCAA Division I institutions in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. The CoSIDA All-Academic team is sponsored by ESPN The Magazine.
