UD women’s basketball earns 13 votes in poll

9:16 a.m., Feb. 16, 2005--Despite a loss Sunday, the University of Delaware women’s basketball team received 13 votes in the most recent ESPN/USA Today NCAA Division I top 25 poll.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens, who are 19-3 following an upset at the hands of Virginia Commonwealth University, trail four teams just outside the top 25. Florida State University is ranked No. 25 and is followed just outside the rankings by the University of New Mexico, Penn State University, Arizona State University, Gonzaga University and UD.

UD, which leads the Colonial Athletic Association, will play at the College of William and Mary on Thursday, Feb. 17, and then will return home to host Towson University at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 20, at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center.
