A10 All-Academic team includes 9 Blue Hens 9:14 a.m., Dec. 15, 2004--Nine University of Delaware scholar-athletes have been named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team. UD, Villanova University and James Madison University each placed nine players on the Academic All-Conference team. To be eligible, scholar-athletes must be in the second year of eligibility at their school, be a starter or key reserve and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Fightin Blue Hens named to the team were junior wide receiver Joe Bleymaier, senior defensive end Ben Cross, graduate linebacker Mondoe Davis, senior defensive lineman Brian Jennings, junior tight end and running back Dominic Madigan, senior defensive lineman Chris Mooney, senior linebacker Mark Moore, junior defensive lineman Tom Parks and graduate defensive lineman Dominic Santoli. Bleymaier, who has a 3.39 grade point average in history, caught 32 passes for 350 yards and four touchdowns in 2004. Cross has a 3.95 grade point average in civil engineering and earlier was named a first team College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American. Davis, a graduate student in public administration and public policy, has a 3.67 grade point average. The middle linebacker had a team-high 123 tackles and two interceptions. Jennings, who has a 3.03 grade point average in wildlife conservation, had 20 tackles and five tackles for loss while Madigan, who has a 3.21 grade point average in business, caught two passes and had two tackles. Mooney has a 3.51 grade point average in accounting and was named a second team CoSIDA Academic All-American. Moore has a 3.34 grade point average in biology education and was named first team CoSIDA District 2 All-Academic, and Parks has a 3.27 grade point average in accounting and was named a third team Sports Network All-American. Santoli has a 3.04 grade point average as a graduate student in postsecondary education. He had 30 tackles and two sacks this season. Lang Campbell, quarterback for the College of William and Mary, was named the Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year. UDs Cross won the inaugural award in 2003.
