Delaware’s Wentt is named CAA Player of the Week

Robin Wentt
9:41 a.m., Feb. 10, 2004--Robin Wentt, a junior forward for the University of Delaware men’s basketball team, has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week.

Honored alongside Wentt is Adam Hess, a senior forward for the College of William & Mary.

Wentt averaged 16.5 points and 16 rebounds as the Fightin’ Blue Hens split two conference games last week. He scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a two-point, last-second loss at Hofstra on Wednesday and then had 16 points and a career-best 18 rebounds in an overtime win against Towson on Saturday.

The 18 rebounds were the most by a CAA player this season and the most by a Hen since 1997, when Greg Smith had 21 against Vermont.

Wentt’s two-game total of 32 was the most since Spencer Dunkley had 32 in games against Boston University and Northeastern in 1993.

Wentt also had five blocked shots in the two games.
