Single game football tickets on sale Aug. 1

2:10 p.m., July 3, 2003--Single game tickets for the 2003 University of Delaware football season will go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 1, at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center box office and through TicketMaster.

The Fighting’ Blue Hens will play seven home games this season, including four consecutive night games at the start of the season.

Tickets can be purchased in person at The Bob box office, which will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday, Aug. 1-31. Beginning Sept. 2, box office hours at The Bob will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturdays. The Trabant University Center box office will open Sept. 2, with the same operating hours as the Bob Carpenter box office.

Tickets also are available, starting Aug. 1, through Ticketmaster by calling (302) 984-2000 or by ordering online at [www.ticketmaster.com]. A convenience charge may apply.

Tickets cost $17 for general seating in the east and west stands, $12 in the north end zone and $5 for children under 12 in the north end zone.

Season ticket packages remain on sale at the Delaware Field House season ticket office, or by calling 831-2257. Ticket packages range from $77-$175. UD employees can pay through payroll deduction.

The Blue Hens begin pre-season practice Wednesday, Aug. 13. Delaware football Media/Photo Day begins at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, at Delaware Stadium. The event is free and open to the public.

Award-winning media guides, offering a wide variety of information on UD players, coaches and traditions, as well as facts on opposing coaches and schools, are available in person at Room 103, Bob Carpenter Center for $10 (cash or check only). The guides also are available by mail for $14 by writing to the Athletics Media Relations Office, University of Delaware, Bob Carpenter Center, Newark DE 19716.

Season ticket holders have the option of buying the media guides when they purchase their tickets at the Delaware Season Ticket Office.

With 16 returning starters, including 10 on the offensive side, expectations for the Fightin’ Blue Hens under second-year coach K.C. Keeler are high.

The season kicks off at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, when the Blue Hens take the field against The Citadel.
