UD baseball stars Valichka, Buber make All-CAA teams

9:30 a.m., May 27, 2004--Two University of Delaware baseball players, sophomore catcher Brian Valichka and junior designated hitter Kelly Buber, have been named All-Colonial Athletic Association.

Valichka, a second-year transfer from Oklahoma State University, was named to the first team, and Buber, a first-year transfer from Yuba City (Calif.) Community College, was named to the second team.

Valichka hit .343 with 16 doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 25 runs batted in. Defensively, he threw out 14 of 34 runners attempting to steal a base, tops in the CAA.

Buber has been outstanding in his first season with the Fightin’ Blue Hens, batting .346 with seven home runs and 48 runs batted in.
