Semiannual meetings to now include public comment
The University of Delaware Board of Trustees will hold its fall semiannual meeting at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center on campus, and for the first time, this meeting will now include an allotment of time for members of the public to comment.
UD’s board and administration have elected to include time for UD community members and the public at large to express their opinions on meeting agenda items at each semiannual meeting going forward.
The meeting agenda and materials for this public meeting, listing the resolutions expected to be approved by the board on Dec. 11 are available here. A full accounting of the public comment guidelines are online at https://www1.udel.edu/vp-sec/PCReq/index.html.
On or before Dec. 21, the draft minutes of the Dec. 11 board meeting will be made available on the webpage of the Office of the Vice President and University Secretary.
Public comment process
Individuals wishing to comment are required to complete an online request form. The form will close 72 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. At the appropriate time during the meeting, individuals who have signed up in advance for public comment will be called forward to the microphone to speak.
Individuals are limited to two minutes to present; a total of 10 minutes will be reserved for public comment. Speakers are prohibited from ceding time for public comment to another audience member.
