The Residence Life & Housing Student Leadership & Service awards are an opportunity for the department to recognize the significant contributions our students make within their residence hall communities. The awards ceremony is held annually every May. A visual showcase will precede the formal awards ceremony to share the impact the nominees have had in their residential communities.</

|Limited to only narrative/ perspective of the nominator.||Provides a rich narrative of nominator’s thoughts and opinions of the candidate and supplements additional perspectives from other’s that have been impacted (may use supportive quotes within the narrative.)|
|Describes the nominee’s impact on their community in vague or general terms.||Describes the nominee’s impact on their community using specific examples, highlighting any that are particularly unique.|
|Doesn’t, or vaguely mentions the community need that the nominee addressed.||Mentions specific community need(s) that were addressed by the nominee.|
|Has spelling and grammar errors that can be distracting to a reviewer.||Is coherent, grammatically correct, and spell-checked.|
|Does not follow necessary guidelines (missing letter of support, nominator is not eligible to author nomination). Nominations missing specific criteria are unable to be selected as winners.||Has followed all criteria guidelines and has been submitted by appropriate nominator.|
The Resident Student Association (RSA) will select and present the following awards: Complex Community Council of the Year, Complex Community Council Leader of the Year.
The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) will select and present their annual Of the Year awards.
