On Saturday, February 22, 2014, Residence Life & Housing will host the annual MLK Day of Service to honor the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the significance of the national day of service. Traditionally, the national MLK Day of Service is held in January. However, in consideration of the University’s Winter Session, Residence Life & Housing has decided to observe this day of service in February, during the spring semester.
We encourage all volunteers to read Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Letter From Birmingham Jail to learn more about the legacy of his work.
Guest speakers will incorporate this work in the morning send-off and Team Leaders will help volunteers connect this passage to service throughout the day.
