Training
Access University
Access University is a digital accessibility training platform from a company called Level Access. Digital accessibility training is important for anyone at the University of Delaware who creates digital content such as documents (e.g., PDF, Excel, Word, InDesign, etc.), websites, and multimedia, as well as those in administrative positions who need to understand the impact of accessibility at our institution and the applicable laws our institution must abide by.
Log In To Access University
Access University is available to anyone at the University of Delaware with a UDelNet ID and UD password.
Getting Started with Access University
- Navigate to Access University.
- When you see the Central Authentication Service (CAS) page, log in with your UDelNet ID and password.
- Once you have signed in, you will land on a page titled University of Delaware - Organization Dashboard. Click on the University tab on the left-hand side of the screen to enter Access University.
- You will see a list of My courses once you reach Access University. Click on a course name (e.g., Accessibility Concepts v2.0) from My courses to start the course or use the course categories listed on the left-hand side of the screen to explore courses related to a specific type of digital accessibility (e.g., Document Accessibility, Web Accessibility, etc.).
- You can track your completed courses on the My report page of Access University.
Note: It can take up to 24 hours for your report to be updated after completing a course.
How to navigate a course
The courses in Access University provide two different ways to navigate a course.
When you click on a course title, you will be taken to a page that displays the full course content. You can work your way down the page content (including text, videos, self-assessments, and a final exam) to complete the course, or use the course navigation, located on the upper-left-hand side of the screen.
Recommended: We recommend using the course navigation on the upper-left-hand side of the screen to break the course content into more digestible chunks of information.
Course "Welcome" page
The course Welcome page/section provides some very useful information, including:
- course audience (e.g., content authors, programmers, managers, legal counsel, etc.),
- prerequisite courses you should complete,
- course objectives and outline,
- completion requirement (i.e., a link to the final exam),
- and a time estimate for the length of the course.
How to complete a course
The final exam is required to complete the course. The self-assessments are optional.
Each time you complete a course you will receive a Course Completion Certificate that you can send to your supervisor or refer to during performance appraisal season as proof of completion.
Note: It can take up to 24 hours for your report to be updated and your certificate to be available after completing a course.
Download or email your certificate in the Reflect section of the course(s) you completed.
