Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQs

Employees, retirees, and their spouses are eligible to participate in our programs and services. Graduate and undergraduate students are not eligible to participate. Dependents are unable to participate in Employee Health & Wellbeing programs, but may use the facilities within Carpenter Sports Building, as long as a parent is present and waiver is completed through the Department of Athletics and Recreation Services.

The All-Access Membership (AAM) will allow for an annual one-time 75 Wellness Dollar payment to enroll for all programs throughout the year. Programs in membership include a full year of fitness classes, HealthyU cooking classes, fall and spring health campaigns (i.e. Walktober), and discounted personal training services. Programs listed in the All-Access Membership cannot be purchased individually.

If wellness dollars are available, please fill out this form and you will receive confirmation when the membership is added to your account.

If no wellness dollars are available, please go online to recreation.udel.edu/membership (choose the All Access Membership) and pay $75 with a credit card.  If this is not possible, please pay with a check at the front desk at Carpenter Sports Building.

Wellness Dollars are virtual dollars that you can spend on health and wellbeing services annually from July 1-June 30. Full-time employees, part-time employees, and retirees receiving benefits will get 75 Wellness Dollars per fiscal year. Employees working part-time and receiving benefits will also receive 75 Wellness Dollars per fiscal year. Wellness dollars do not roll over to the next fiscal year.

Wellness Dollars can be used for Employee Health & Wellbeing (EHW) and Recreation programs and services. They are not real dollars and cannot be spent on items external to the University. Throughout the year, you may use these dollars for the EHW All-Access Membership for University-wide health challenges, cooking classes, and fitness classes, but may also use these dollars for personal training services, fitness classes, lockers, and more. To purchase the All-Access Membership for EHW all-inclusive services, please complete this form. To purchase EHW personal training services with your wellness dollars, please complete this interest form. To purchase Recreation Services, including a UD CROSSFIT membership, lockers, or group exercise class passes, please contact recreation@udel.edu. If you deplete your Wellness Dollars, you can pay out of pocket. If you do not use all of your Wellness Dollars by June 30, you lose them. You cannot roll them into the next year’s bank. Each July 1, you will start fresh with 75 Wellness Dollars.

You are the only one who can use your Wellness Dollars for programs and services. Although your spouse is able to participate in our programs, they cannot access your Wellness Dollar account. Spouses will pay the equivalent cost out of pocket. Wellness Dollars are non-transferable, which means you cannot give them to a co-worker if you are not planning to use them. Miscellaneous wage employees do not receive Wellness Dollars, however they can participate in Employee Health & Wellness programs by paying the equivalent out of pocket fee.

Recreation Services Programs

Aside from the Employee Health & Wellbeing services offered, you are eligible to take the Recreation Services group fitness classes, UD CROSSFIT, or participate in their personal training program. For more information on their programs, visit their website.

If you do not wish to purchase a locker in the employee locker room, there are general locker rooms for you to use. The CSB front desk can provide you with a lock for daily use.
