UD’s Black Alumni Organization Celebrates 40 Years
When the Black Alumni Organization was created, its primary focus was to foster a community in which Black alumni could easily connect with each other. Since then, the BAO has expanded to mentor and provide a network to students, as well as raise money for scholarships.
Striving Through Adversity
When Brianna Moran, AS19, was a student at UD, her journey to graduation was more difficult than most. A first-generation college student driven to be the first in her family to graduate, she paid her own tuition and living costs by working two jobs until a major injury left her searching for help.
Taking Action to Make a Difference
Cynthia and Jeff Alecci identified a need during the COVID-19 pandemic, realized they were in a position to do something about it, and took action to help fellow Blue Hens.
The Gift of Experience
Lauren Turenchalk couldn't afford to take an unpaid internship in NYC, but with help from the Student Internship Fund, she realized her dream.
Choosing to be Givers
Inspired by entrepreneurship and philanthropy, two Blue Hen engineers – decades apart – become part of a circle of giving.
