Frequently Asked Questions for Alumni Weekend 2022, June 3-5.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Top Questions

A: The safety of the UD Community is our primary concern and we take this responsibility seriously.

Most events have rain locations. Registrants will be notified of new event locations by email. Please inform your guests. The calendar of events is your best resource for up-to-date location information of individual events.

Dela-fest: Dela-fest is a rain or shine event—as long as no dangerous weather is predicted. If there is rain, ponchos will be provided at registration and we encourage attendees to wear rain boots since The Green will be wet. Umbrellas will not be allowed. If there is any concern regarding heavy winds or thunder and lightning, a decision to postpone the Dela-fest start time will be made by 3 p.m. on Saturday and registrants will be notified by email and text message (if you opted in to text messaging). Information will also be posted on the schedule page.

Should the weather cause us to cancel Dela-fest, we will refund Dela-fest registration fees if a request is made in writing to aw-registration@udel.edu by 11:59 p.m. ET on June 15. If you do not submit a written refund request by that time, your registration fee will be applied as a gift to the Blue Hen Strong Fund.

Registrants are asked to please inform their guests. If Dela-fest is canceled, you can pick-up your mug and T-shirt in Trabant from 3-5p.m.

A: This year, we’re thrilled to present you with a Drag Show Brunch at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, hosted by Brooklyn Heights. The show will be filled with singing, dancing and lots of laughs as you enjoy a delicious brunch buffet with mimosas and bloody marys available for purchase.

We’re also excited to invite you to enjoy 6-WIRE & Alexander Kariotis: From Classical to Rock. This new family-friendly Saturday concert takes place at 12:30 p.m. at the Roselle Center for the Arts.

A: Yes! As part of the total cost to attend Dela-Fest, $10 will be donated to the Blue Hen Strong Fund, which directly supports the ever-evolving needs of UD students. The fund helps provide resources and assistance—such as safe housing, tuition support, advanced technology, career readiness and so much more—to students in critical need.

A: This wonderful weekend is designed to bring alumni back to campus and celebrate all that makes the UD experience so special. In order to make it affordable for all our alumni to participate, we keep pricing as low as possible by subsidizing the cost of the weekend’s events. In most cases, the University supports more than half the cost of each event. So, no, the University does not make a profit on the weekend.
